Udai Mazumdar

Udai Mazumdar is a famous tabla player, music producer, and composer. He was born on 28 March 1970. He started learning tabla and Hindustani vocals at the age of seven. After this, he moved to Delhi in 1988 and became a disciple of sitar maestro Ravi Shankar. Early in his career, he performed for several royal families in Britain and Sweden. Apart from this, he has also performed many times with his guru Ravi Shankar. He performed with Zakir Hussain at Ravi Shankar's 75th birthday celebrations.

Udai has also broadcast on Radio DRS in Switzerland, BBC TV, and Radio France. He has toured all over the world and exhibited his art at many places including the Durgalal Festival in Delhi, The Saptak Festival in Ahmedabad, Vasantahabba Festival in Bengaluru, International Folk Festival in Hungary, Drum Festival in Germany, World Music Festival in Rome, International Festival for Chornobyl Victims Minsk, and festivals for contemporary music in Mongolia, Odesa, Vietnam, Indonesia.
